2023 OLL Men’s Club Bass Classic Fishing Tournament Final Report

​

The annual OLL Men’s Club Fishing that was held on Saturday June 17th and was a tremendous success!  We had beautiful weather with great fishing, food, drink, and fellowship.  We set new records across the board with 12 boats competing and 85 attendees, including families, enjoying the festivities; while also generating meaningful net proceeds which will help fund our worthy causes that support parish needs and our youth.

This outstanding result was achieved through the hard work and contributions of many, and we want to acknowledge and thank them.

​

·Fishing Tournament Committee – Jim Aleshire (co-chair), Jim Burfield (co-chair), Jim Assemany, Lou Chiasson, Mark Desrosiers, Ron Price, and Mart Wutsch.

​

·Business Sponsors – Hamm Hardware & Building Supplies, Riverwinds Landing & Taylor Outdoors, and Summit Business Solutions (Mark & Virginia Desrosiers).

·Gold Star Sponsors – Jim & Cindy Aleshire, the Men’s Club, Gary & RoseMarie Schmedding, and Mike & Julie Weinzapfel.

·Time & Talent Sponsors – Jim & Darcy Assemany (providing & preparing the food), Jim & Nancy Burfield (providing door prizes & soliciting business sponsors), Andrew Aleshire and son, Preston (helped clean fish), and Linda Milliff (hosting the event at her beautiful home; Mike would be pleased!).

·Fishing Winners – Most Weight-Any 5 Bass: Boat Team 112; Largest-Striped Bass: 112/Scott Hamilton; Largest-Largemouth Bass: 110/Michael Pope.

​

·Volunteers Before, During & After The Event – In addition to those named above:  Lou Chiasson (as always, helped where he saw the need), Robbie Martin, Virginia Desrosiers (photographer & 50/50 winner who donated the prize money back to the Men’s Club), Fr. Dennis Willey, and Teddy Desrosiers (event mascot).
