Our biggest fundraiser of the year was held at Timberlake Country Club on Friday October 13th and was the most successful ever!  The weather cooperated and we had a wonderful day of great golf, food, drink, and camaraderie; all while contributing to the worthy cause of providing three $3,000 scholarships (plus one with an anonymous donor) to high school seniors and helping to fund other youth-related activities and needs.  We had 70+ sponsors (plus other contributors) and quickly sold out with 30 teams (almost 120 golfers).  We also set a new record with our net proceeds all of which go to scholarships and to fund other parish youth related needs.

 

This outstanding result was achieved through the hard work of many, and we want to acknowledge and thank our fellow Men's Club members and parishioners as well as others.

•    Volunteers Before, During & After The Event - In addition to the Committee members: Deacon Jim Atkinson (who led our successful prayers efforts for holding off the rain and delivered a memorable golf event opening prayer), Neal Baer, Virginia Desrosiers, Tom Hrica, Donnie Jameson, Ray Kuderka, Mary Lees, Larry LeFevre, Bob Long, Pat Moore, Mike Morrett, Nick Ricci, Ed Stawicki, Bruce Thompson, Myron Vincent, Julie Weinzapfel, Nancy Williamson, and Mark Zambarda.

 

The event was dedicated to the memory of Hank Lees with a wonderful opening tribute, which can be found along with all of the event's pictures, in an album on the "Our Lady of the Lake Men's Club, Chapin, South Carolina" Facebook group page. On Facebook, you need to be a member of this group to view the pictures.  Just click on "Join" and you will be accepted.

 

We attribute our tremendous success to our very worthy cause and the help of our hard working gracious volunteers, along with the generous support of our sponsors and enthusiastic participation of our golfers.  We look forward to even more of you joining our team next year!
